Panathinaikos announces Dusko Ivanovic for the next two years.
The president of Panathinaikos BC, welcomed the new coach of the team. Ivanovic stated: "It's a great joy to be here in Athens and Panathinaikos. It's one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Everything here looks big: Organizations, history, fans, titles... I am really happy and it's a big motive for me to be here for a new project, according to which we are going to embody new players and future stars".
Duško Ivanović was born on the 1st of September 1957 in Bijelo Polje (Montenegro). Basketball entered early in his life. His career highlight as a player was certainly the two consecutive Euroleague titles in 1989 and 1990. He began he career in KK Jedinstvo and he continued in KK Buducnost, KK Jugoplastika Split, Valvi Girona, CSP Limoges, Fribourg Olympic. He began working as a coach in Olympic and the first year was at the same time assistant coach and player (1993-94). In 1994-95 he was assistant coach in Valvi Girona, he returned to Switzerland for Olympic (1995-99) and the National Team (1997-2000). In 1999-2000 he was also coach in Limoges. He continued in Laboral Kutxa (2000-05) and Barcelona (2005-08). He returned to Baskonia and Laboral Kutxa (2008-12). He is now coach of the National Team of Bosnia Herzegovina.
As a coach he has celebrated a Korac Cup (2000) with Limoges and he reached the Euroleague final twice with Laboral Kutxa (2001, 2005). He has also celebrated 3 Swiss League titles (1997, 1998, 1999), 2 Swiss Cups (1998, 1999), 1 French League (2000), 2 ACB titles (2002, 2010), 4 Copa del Rey (2002, 2004, 2007, 2009).
