Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul bounced back after last week's narrow defeat at Valencia Basket by grabbing a well-deserved 83-69 victory over Panathinaikos Athens in Round 3 of the 2023-24 EuroLeague Regular Season. The hosts were in control throughout the game, despite some comeback attempts from the visitors. Fenerbahce improved to 2-1 and Panathinaikos dropped to 1-2.
Papagiannis scored a team-high 15 points, going 3-for-4 from downtown. Motley added 14, while Guduric and Calathes scored 12 each. Guduric did not miss from anywhere, going 2-for-2 on triples, three-pointers and free throws for a 22 PIR. Lessort stood out with a game-high 19 points on 7-for-7 shooting from the field. Guy added 13, all of which came in an incredible second quarter.
Fenerbahce dominated from the off and took a 19-point lead into the second quarter, 27-9. Guy came off the bench to inspire Panathinaikos to a comeback, but the guests didn't manage to reduce the deficit to single digits heading into the second half, 43-28. The hosts were in control of the game after the break and despite being outscored 16-24 in the last quarter, they secured an emphatic 83-69 home victory.
