Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv ground out a hard-fought overtime road win over Panathinaikos Athens, 81-86, at OAKA on Friday night. The home side fought back from a 14-point third quarter deficit following the ejection of head coach Ergin Ataman to force the extra five minutes, but ultimately came up short.
Bonzie Colson paced Maccabi with 21 points and 8 rebounds, Josh DiBartolomeo added 15 while Lorenzo Brown, Tamir Blatt and Josh Nebo chipped in with 12 each. Brown also had 12 assists.
At the other end, Luca Vildoza led PAO with 15 points. Marius Grigonis netted 13, Mathias Lessort scored 12, while Eleftherios Mitoglu chipped in with 11 and Kostas Antetokounmpo scored 10 points.
