Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet – Panathinaikos BC AKTOR 76-89

Panathinaikos beats Zvezda, 76-89, to stay in top-four hunt

The Greens cruised to a comfortable victory in Belgrade after a rock-solid performance against the Serbian team

Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens (19-11) assured itself a spot in the Play-In Showdown, at the least, and boosted its hopes of finishing in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague's top four after a smooth 76-89 win at Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade, which suffered its sixth successive defeat in Europe's premier club competition.

A flowing team effort saw five visiting players finish in double figures, with Mathias Lessort leading the way on 19 points and 6 rebounds. Kostas Sloukas and Dinos Mitoglou added 17 points apiece, the latter also racking up 9 rebounds. Kendrick Nunn posted 15 points and Jerian Grant scored 12 for Panathinaikos, which shot 12 of 21 from downtown and dished out 25 assists.

At the other end, Nemanja Nedovia and Dejan Davidovac netted 19 points each for Zvezda while Joel Bolomboy racked up 11 points to go with 8 rebounds, but the home team lacked the depth to stay on an even keel with the Greens.
