The 10th season of the active participation of Panathinaikos BC AKTOR in Euroleague’s "One Team" Corporate Social Responsibility program, through its cooperation with Special Olympics Hellas under the umbrella of "Basketball is Everywhere", was crowned with complete success.
On Monday, February 26, the closing ceremony of the program held in the arena of OAKA, where the last training session took place.
One Team Ambassadors of Panathinaikos BC AKTOR, Kostas Sloukas, Juancho Hernangomez and Kostas Antetokounmpo, along with the active participation of all our athletes, have undertaken the mission to pass on the secrets of basketball and the values of sports to the Special Olympics Hellas team.
As part of the program, several actions took place with the constant presence of Juancho Hernangomez, who attended all the training sessions. In one of them Zakcret, official sponsor of Panathinaikos BC AKTOR distributed gifts to the participants and coaches of the program, as well as Adidas, official supporter of "One Team".
The Special Olympics Hellas athletes had the opportunity to visit the locker room and the gym of Panathinaikos BC AKTOR, while they also watched a training session of the first team as part of the ONE TEAM Games.
Guided by its long-standing support for people with intellectual disabilities, Panathinaikos BC AKTOR sets as the main goal of this season's program not only to help athletes recognize their strengths and realize their potential, both in basketball and as members of society, but also to promote their inclusion. At the same time, from this season female athletes of the Special Olympics Hellas team participated in the program, which strengthened our effort to promote gender equality.
