Ανακοίνωση ΚΑΕ Παναθηναϊκός AKTOR

With ruling No. 22/12-2-2025, A.S.E.A.D. has accepted the appeal of Panathinaikos AKTOR B.C. against the decision of the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.) Board of Directors dated 11/10 regarding the formation and appointment of the members of the Central Refereeing Committee (K.E.D.). The appeal argued, among other things, that the K.E.D. was established unlawfully, as there was no transparency in the selection criteria, no justification for the reduction in members, and no fixed term of office was defined.

At this point, all proceedings must be suspended until the reasoning behind the A.S.E.A.D. decision is made public. Otherwise, everything will be legally void and contestable, and Panathinaikos AKTOR B.C. will challenge all related actions in adherence to legality.

E.O.K. has urgently convened an extraordinary Board meeting today at 15:00 in an attempt to appoint a new K.E.D., effectively trying to legitimize an unlawful act. Meanwhile, the first Greek Cup quarterfinal between Promitheas and Megarida is scheduled for 17:00 today, while the second, between Panathinaikos AKTOR and Peristeri, is set for 20:15, yet no referees have been announced—an unprecedented occurrence.

We inform you that Panathinaikos AKTOR B.C. will pursue legal action both individually and collectively against the E.O.K. Board should it persist in unlawful actions.

We call upon the political leadership to take the necessary steps to suspend the Greek Cup competition and implement all required measures to uphold legality in Greek basketball.
