DeMarcus Nelson made his first statements as a member of Panathinaikos.
"I'm very happy because I have the opportunity to play for a great team and a great organization based in a beautiful city," said the 29-year old American guard.
"I am grateful to the people of Panathinaikos who identified and trusted me and then contacted my agent. Obviously I'm very happy and I will give everything to our goals, "added Nelson, who then remembered last year's tough games against Panathinakos when he was playing for Red Star Belgrade: "Panathinaikos is a team that wins your respect because they are playing hard. Last season they reached the playoffs and everybody saw that they are playing right tactically. Against us were they behind the score but they found the right way to close the gap and win in Belgrade as well as in Athens where they qualified to Top16. Then I was on the other side but now I'm in the right side ... Fans of Panathinaikos created a wonderful atmosphere and strengthened their team and I expect to live such an atmosphere. "
Finally DeMarcus Nelson mentioned in his coexistence with Dimitris Diamantidis. "I am feeling beautiful because I will be on the side of a great player, as Diamantidis. He makes many jobs in the court, he is ideal teammate and his career speaks for itself for its value.
