Dusko Ivanovic’s assistant, Josep Berrocal spoke to paobc.gr about the preparation of Panathinaikos and the first friendly game against Apollon Patron, which will take place tomorrow (29/8) in Karpenissi, Central Greece.
“We’re very satisfied with the first part of our training in Karpenissi. We’re working very well, with very satisfactory intensity, and there’s a very positive mood in the team. The players are showing strong motivation for learning new things and improving their game as well as for working on their fitness. I have a very good feeling about my team. It couldn’t be different since all the people in the team offer their help in every possible way. This is the most important: to be together and work together,” he stated and continued:
“This moment I’m only concerned about Bochoridis who’s lost some training sessions and must come back soon. Pappas is coming back step by step. These problems are normal during the preparation period, and, at the same time, the newcomers need some time for adjustment. After the end of the preparation period in Karpenissi we’ll be a completely different team compared with our first assembly 10 days ago.”
With regard to the team’s first test against Apollon Patron, the Spanish coach said:
“Tomorrow’s game will be more like another training session for us. We know what we want to do in this game. All the players will have the chance to play. It’ll be something different for them compared with the hard training sessions; a good break. I don’t care about the result. If all the players do their best, as in training, we’ll have achieved our goal. In general, I’m very satisfied with how all the players work.”
