The coach of FC Barcelona Lassa, Georgios Bartzokas spoke to paobc.gr about the importance of his and his team’s participation in the biggest ever friendly tournament in Europe, the “Diamonds Are Forever” and, of course, about Dimitris Diamantidis.
“This is a special tournament. Firstly because high level teams participate and also because it’s a tribute to Dimitris Diamantidis. Diamantidis is a player symbol for Panathinaikos Superfoods and for Greek basketball, which is rightly considered a Euroleague legend. The titles and personal honorary show how good a player he was, but say only half the truth, because there cannot demonstrate how good a teammate was”, stated and added:
“He changed the way in which players play, and also how the fans watching basketball. The extra passes or deflection for example matched with a dunk or with a three-pointer, thanks to Diamantidis.
